CLASS REQUIREMENTS
Dancers need to wear comfortable clothing that won't restrict movement or cover movement either. A t-shirt and shorts are ideal. To start out, a dancer can learn in barefeet, socks or lightweight shoes. When you decide to continue Irish Dancing, you will need to invest in a pair of Irish Dancing softshoes. Hardshoes are not needed until dancers have mastered beginner soft shoe dances. Our Teachers will approach you about these when the time is right.
We here at MFK Academy of Irish Dance ask that dancers come to class at least 10 minutes prior to your lesson start time. This small amount of time allows for the dancers to get themselves ready for class.
MFK Academy of Irish Dance prides itself on providing warm, professional and supportive classes for anyone interested in learning the Irish dance genre. We offer classes for male and female dancers as young as 3 years covering many aspects of this timeless dance style whether you wish to learn for fun, fitness or to compete.
Our Founder and Principal Teacher, Michelle Burgess (TCRG) has over 40 successful years of Irish Dance experience. MFK Academy of Irish Dance is registered with the Australian Irish Dance Association and the Irish Dancing Commission, Dublin, thus ensuring the quality of teaching provided and allowing all of our dancers to compete and undertake grade exams if they wish.
